The Cost of Concealing



The Ganesha Purana states this:

आच्छादने दोषवृद्धिः ख्यापने तु लयो भवेत् ।

ācchādane doṣavṛdhdiḥ khyāpane tu layo bhavet .

This means that "A fault or mistake gets aggravated and grows heavier if it is

concealed, but it fades away and gets dissolved if it is revealed

(or rather owned up)."

Denying a failure just chains you to it, forcing you to repeat the same

lesson until you finally decide to pay attention. 

But when you have the courage to look your errors in the eye, own them,

that is where the magic happens. 

The moment we stop wasting our energy defending our egos or pretending

a misstep didn't happen, we unlock the most potent accelerator

for personal growth available to us.
