Perfect is the Enemy of Now



The Hitopadesha mentions this:

आदानस्य प्रदानस्य कर्तव्यस्य च कर्मणः । 

क्षिप्रमक्रियमाणस्य कालः पिबति तद्रसम् ॥

Ādānasya pradānasya kartavyasya ca karmaṇaḥ | 

Kṣipramakriyamāṇasya kālaḥ pibati tadrasam || 

This means that: ‘If what needs to be taken, what needs to be given back, or an action that needs to be performed is not executed swiftly, then Time drinks away its sweet essence.’ 


Hesitation disguises itself as prudence. 

But a brilliant choice made a moment too late ceases to be a solution, it becomes a monument to what could have been. 

So trust your instinct, embrace the calculated risk, and understand that imperfect execution in the present is infinitely more powerful than a flawless decision made in retrospect.
