A Subhashita (Wise Saying) mentions this:
अनुसर सरस्तीरं वैरं किमत्र सहात्मना कतिपयपयःपाणम् मानिन् समाचर चातक।
प्रलयपवनैरस्तं नीतः पुरातनवारिदो यदयमदयं कीलाजालं विमुञ्चति नूतनः॥
Anusara sarastīraṁ vairaṁ kimatra sahātmanā katipayapayaḥpāṇam mānin samācara cātaka Pralayapavanairastaṁ nītaḥ purātanavārido yadayamadayaṁ kīlājālaṁ vimuñcati nūtanaḥ
This means that "O Chataka bird! Why do you fight with yourself and cling to the old, dried-up clouds that no longer give rain? Leave them behind and fly toward the lake. The old storm clouds are gone; let the new ones pour down fresh water for you."
Growth requires space, but we often try to climb to the next level while carrying the heavy baggage of the past. To step into the person you are becoming, you must have the courage to loosen your grip on who you used to be.
Trust the transition, release what no longer serves your future, and allow yourself to finally expand.
