The Internal Compass

The Skanda Purana mentions this:

आत्मतीर्थं समुत्सृज्य बहिस्तीर्थानि यो व्रजेत् ।

करस्थं हाटकं त्यक्त्वा काचं विन्द्त चेतसः ॥

Ātmatīrthaṁ samutsṛjya bahistīrthāni yo vrajet |

Karasthaṁ hāṭakaṁ tyaktvā kācaṁ vindata cetasaḥ ||

This means that "One who ignores the sacred pilgrimage site within oneself

(Atma-tirtha) and searches for it in the external world is like a person

who casts away a pure gold coin already held in their palm to go

searching for a piece of glass."

The most important journey you will ever take is the one that leads

inward. Knowing yourself means embracing your strengths with humility,

acknowledging your flaws with grace, and understanding what truly

drives your passion. Trust your inner voice, honor your unique path,

and remember that every great achievement begins with the clarity and

confidence found within.

Stop looking outward for what you already hold in your hand.
