Don’t miss the masterpiece while waiting for the frame

In the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, there is a focus on the gap between moments of life.

नित्ये निराश्रये शून्ये व्याप्ते चामिततेजसि ।

विशुद्धे निर्मले ज्ञाने स्थितेऽपि न विमुच्यते ॥

Nitye nirāśraye śūnye vyāpte cāmitatejasi |

Viśuddhe nirmale jñāne sthite’pi na vimumucyate ||

This means that One who finds the Eternal in the subtle, the "empty" spaces, and the pure awareness of the now, finds true freedom.

To enjoy the little things in life is to practice a form of presence in the now. The way light hits the trees at dawn, an actual laugh… These are not filler episodes, these are the main events.

Focusing on the smaller things helps you change focus from what is missing in your life and helps you appreciate what is there.

The world no longer feels like hurdles, it looks like a series of gifts.

So don’t wait for the finish line to smile, remember the beauty of the race is in the heartbeat of every ordinary second.

After all, a life well-lived cannot be found in the highlight reel, it is usually written in the margins.
