A verse from the Niti Shatakam states this:
कुसुमस्तबकस्येव द्वयी वृत्तिर्मनस्विनः ।
मूर्ध्नि वा सर्वलोकस्य विशीर्येत वनेऽथवा ॥
Kusuma-stabakas-yeva dvayi vṛttir-manasvinaḥ |
Mūrdhni vā sarva-lokasya viśīryeta vane’thavā ||
This means that "Like a cluster of flowers, a resilient person has two states - either they stand at the head of the world in full bloom, or they wither away in the forest. In both states, they remain true to their nature."
A real flower is beautiful because it braves the wind and the rain and changes every day to shows its resilience.
Perfection is a static state that lacks the grit and glory of growth. Our flaws that are made from the scars of experiences and the moments that fray our nerves make us real and truly alive.
The resilience of a person who blooms through the storm marks a life well lived.
True perfection is found not in being untouched, but in being unbroken.
